The Rio Grande Valley Section of IEEE was establish in 2010 .  It includes members  from Rio Grand
City to Brownsville

There are approximately 23 members from various engineering fields ranging from professors,
consultants, power plant engineers and technicians.

W. Mack Grady (F'00) is a Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Baylor University, Waco,
specializing in electric power systems, synchrophasor applications, power quality, and integration of
wind and solar resources into power grids.  He received his BSEE degree from U.T. Arlington in
1971, and MSEE (1973) and PhD (1983) from Purdue.He worked a system planning engineer for
Texas Power & Light (now Oncor) for six years, and joined U.T. Austin in 1983. He has been teaching
at Baylor University since 2012. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas.
